Help reduce a bit of worry for women in difficulties, HPV Vaccination Charity Event
United Foundation for China’s Health (UFCH) sponsored “Help reduce a bit of worry for women in difficulties, HPV Vaccination Charity Event”. A total of 61 disadvantaged women from 6 partners such as Le Yi Rong Social Work Office (formerly Beijing Sisters for the Disabled), Beijing Guang Ai School went to United Family Women’s & Children’s Hospital to receive free HPV bivalent vaccine. These women include workers who have been caring for orphaned/disabled children for a long time, mothers and daughters in difficult circumstances, strong girls with limited mobility but full of love for life, and women with rare diseases that UFCH continually supports. Most of them live in the suburbs of Beijing or even in the surrounding cities, but all of them arrived at the hospital ahead of time, some of them even caught the early morning train and arrived in Beijing at 4am.Cervical cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in women, and it is also the only cancer that can be prevented through “early detection, early treatment”. Due to economic conditions, geographical and other reasons, women disadvantaged usually lack awareness of cervical cancer prevention and treatment, which leads them easy to miss the best time for prevention and treatment that increase the risk of lesions. In addition to providing free HPV vaccine for women in need, volunteers from all walks of life also provided women’s health knowledge through HPV/ cervical cancer prevention videos, handout, and explanations. Thanks to the medical team of United Family Women’s & Children’s Hospital for providing professional medical support to all aspects of this charity vaccination, which makes charity more powerful.UFCH has been committed to providing cervical cancer prevention education, screening, treatment and other medical services for women in need all year round. In cooperation with the Action Plan for Accelerating the Elimination of Cervical Cancer (2023-2030) proposed by the National Health Commission, to give more women in distress the opportunity to take care of their health and protect more families from the potential risk of poverty due to illness.
