UFCH PROPIVEDS CHARITY CLINIC IN BIJIE
On January 16, at the kind invitation of the China Development Research Foundation (CDRF), the United Foundation for China’s Health (UFCH) team visited Zhongxin Village, Machang Town, Zhijin County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, to host a charity clinic focused on promoting healthy rural development. The clinic provided professional medical services to over a hundred villagers, including children.
Four medical volunteers from Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen United Family Hospitals participated in this meaningful initiative. At the clinic, long lines of villagers, mostly elderly individuals and children, patiently awaited treatment.
Recognizing the challenges of transporting elderly patients and the difficulties in engaging young children, the medical volunteers approached the situation with great patience and care. They guided the villagers thoughtfully, conducting detailed examinations and offering personal attention to each person. From measuring blood pressure and listening to heartbeats, to assessing symptoms, diagnosing conditions, and providing prescriptions and medications, every part of the process was carried out methodically. Beyond medical treatment, the volunteers also dedicated time to educating the villagers about health, providing helpful advice on rehabilitation and long-term health maintenance.
Local medical staff were also actively involved in the charity clinic. They took full advantage of this rare opportunity to observe the volunteer doctors in action, paying close attention to their diagnostic approach, patient communication, and treatment plan formulation. They eagerly asked questions and engaged in meaningful dialogue, gaining valuable insights to enhance their own practices. This exchange of medical knowledge across regions not only fostered collaboration but also gave a hopeful boost to the local healthcare community, paving the way for improvements in local medical standards.
Looking ahead, UFCH is committed to continuing its involvement in rural health development. We aim to provide both medical resources and technological support for future projects, while also exploring and establishing innovative models for sustainable and healthy rural communities. With our ongoing efforts, we are dedicated to making a tangible impact on rural healthcare and supporting the long-term health and well-being of these communities.
