Charity Eye Examination for “Baseball Angels“
On June 14, 2023, United Foundation for China’s Health (“UFCH”) organized the UFCH Board Members and United Family Healthcare Medical team members to visit the Power Baseball home base. Power Baseball is an organization that provided poor, ethnic minority children the opportunity to learn professional baseball. UFCH has been supporting the Power Baseball Angels Program for more than 3 years.
As UFCH marks its 5th year, we continue to organize charity medical events for people who need it. This time UFCH comes to Power Baseball to do an eye examination for these “baseball angels.” In addition to the UFCH Board Members, they were accompanied by Dr. Wang Hua and Nurse Deng Ying from the ophthalmology department of Beijing United Family Hospital to carry out the eye screenings.
Upon arrival at the base, UFCH Board Members and medical staff, led by the “little Captain” of Power Baseball, toured the entire base of the program. And the arrival of Stephon Marbury – one of the UFCH’s Board Members – also made the children excited and they all took out their baseball gloves and asked for autographs.
After the tour, the Board Members began their volunteer work – assisting the medical team with the eye examinations.

With the help of volunteers, the eye examination completed quickly. After that, UFCH team invited Coach Yang of the Power Baseball Angels to organize an interactive baseball game for the United Family team and the Baseball Angels to experience and complete a mini-baseball game together. Finally, the charity trip ended in a happy water balloon battle.

A total of 29 people were provided eye examinations, nine of whom were found to have vision problems. UFCH will keep supporting their follow-up tests and treatment.
